Need help with Universal EQ? Here are the most common fixes and things to know before reporting an issue.

How do I turn the EQ on?

Play audio on a normal website in Chrome, click the Universal EQ toolbar icon, and enable the power control. Changes to bands and presets apply to the selected tab.

Why did a tab go silent?

Turn the extension off, refresh the tab, and re-enable it after playback starts. Check Chrome's audio output device and whether another extension is also capturing the same tab. If the browser has updated or the extension reloaded, start capture again.

Why won't fullscreen work on my streaming service?

Universal EQ can use a fullscreen-friendlier route automatically for certain compatible HTML5 media players. DRM-protected services including Netflix and Disney+ are not guaranteed to support native fullscreen while captured audio is being equalized. This is a Chrome/media restriction, not a hidden setting you can enable.

How do I install or update Universal EQ?

Use the official Chrome Web Store listing to install Universal EQ. Chrome handles updates automatically for extensions installed from the Store. You do not need to download ZIP files or enable Developer Mode.

Report an issue

Include your Chrome version, operating system, affected site (without private URLs), whether audio plays with EQ off, and what you expected to happen. Use the developer support/contact details provided in the Chrome Web Store listing. Do not send passwords or private media.
